1) Bee Kind Family Farm

Have you ever wondered just how that Local Honey at your market makes its way from hive to bottle?Come visit our small sustainable apiary/Bee Farm and find out. We are a small micro farm keeping 60+ beehives. When visiting our farm you can expect to tour our apiary and Honey House. Take a walk and see our vegetable gardens, chickens, shiitake mushroom logs etc. We are even offering a tour of our Off Grid/Solar powered home. There is something for everyone at Bee Kind Family Farm!

Directions: (from Blowing Rock) Take the Blue Ridge Parkway approximately 16 miles south (towards Linville) to Roseboro Rd. Roseboro Rd. is NOT marked- ­ it is the next crossroads just after the 221 Grandfather mountain exit. Take a left on Roseboro Rd., (mostly a gravel road) ­ and travel for 9 miles. At the stop sign, take a left, Bee Kind Family Farm is about a mile down on the right.

2) Crow Hollow Farm

Come visit a young, developing family farm on the beautiful Johns River. We raise grass fed Dorper and Katahdin sheep and lambs. In addition, we are one of the few farms in North Carolina to raise Bielefelder chickens. These are called the German "uber chickens" and are large, productive layers with gentle, friendly temperaments.  Our livestock contribute to our compost project that we use in developing our vegetable and berry gardens.  

Products can be found at: Lenoir Downtown Farmers Market and by word of mouth to friends and family

Directions: (from the intersection of US Hwy 321 and US Hwy 64/18 Smith's Crossroad)  Follow 64/18 W  one block and continue on it as it turns left becoming Morganton Blvd SW.  Drive 2 1/4 miles and turn right onto Harper Rd., just past Food Lion.  At the second light (3/4 mile, Citgo on left)  turn left onto Abingdon Rd.  Drive 7 miles to the end of Abingdon Rd. and turn left onto US Hwy 90.  Crow Hollow Farm is 6 miles on the right.  Look for the yellow farm house with red gables.

3) Thankful Fork Farm

The farm has been in the family since around 1825. We specialize in a variety of products on a small scale. Visitors can see the fields, barns, chicken house, spring house, and a variety of livestock.

Directions: (from highway 321 the caution lights between Lenoir and Blowing Rock)  turn onto Warrior Road, beside the Citgo station. Go half mile turn right onto Setzers Creek Road.  Farm is 2 miles on the left.

4) The Patterson School

Come tour the Patterson School Foundation property, bequeathed for agricultural educational purposes by Samuel Legerwood Patterson, the first elected NC Agricultural Commissioner. His great, great niece will share the Permaculture plans to regenerate this land, the organic horse hay, the upcoming plans for their incubator farm school, and the Caldwell County STEAM program's campus. Enjoy this resource rich land which includes an old hydro­electric dam, and trails from the Yadkin River to Ripshin Mountain.

Directions: Head south west on Edgewood Drive toward Councill St, then follow US ­321 South to State Road 1560 in Patterson for 20.2 miles. Follow State Road 1560 to NC 268 East, which is the same as Patterson School Drive for 4.6 miles. You'll pass our large red barns on the right and you'll turn left into the campus soon thereafter, on 4646 Patterson School Drive.

5) Thankful Goat Farm
3872 Daffodil Rd. Lenoir, NC 28645

We are a dairy goat farm with chickens and a llama making quality soaps and bath products. While on a tour of our farm you will be able to milk a goat, taste cheese from our farm, and learn a quick lesson in soap making. We will also be demonstrating canning and drop spindle spinning of yarn.

Products available for purchase during tour: Drinks for sale, free goat cheese & crackers, and all Thankful Goat soap and bath products will be for sale
Directions: (from Boone)  Take 321 South just before Lenoir (25 miles). Turn right onto Southwest Blvd go to Hwy 18 (6 miles). Turn right onto hwy 18 towards Morganton. Go (2.8 miles) to Rocky Road and turn right. Go (2.5 miles) to Deerbrook Rd and turn right. Immediately turn left onto Oakwood Church Road (sign) and then immediately right onto Daffodil Lane. We are the last property on this road.

6) Snyder Family Farm

We are a first generation farm specializing in raising heritage bred pork on free range pasture and pasture raised beef. We also have goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens, milk cows and honey bees. We love educating people on the benefits of living off the land and eating healthy.  Take a tour of our farm and let us show you what living the dream looks like-farm style.

Products can be found at: The Health Hut and Maddies Pantry in Hickory (meats), Lake Valley Grocery in the NorthLakes community, The Fresh Depot in downtown Hickory features (meats) 
Products available for purchase during tour: Meat, honey, eggs, and goats milk soap
Directions: Travel 321 S to the traffic light at McDonald's, Wilco­Hess, and Pizza Hut in Granite Falls and take a left.  At the stop sign at Domino's Pizza turn left.  Go 2.4 miles and at the 5 point intersection take the straight left onto Campground Rd. Go 200 yards and turn at the first dirt road on the left called Blue Dove Ln. You will pass a few dwellings and then turn left at the blue street sign labeled Snyder Farm Road. Follow our driveway to our home/farm.​

7) Johnny Wilson Farm
2547 Dry Ponds Rd. Granite Falls, NC 28630

We are 3rd and 4th generation farmers raising the 5th generation. We own 100 acres of land and lease approximately another 150. We raise all of our feed that our livestock eat including wheat, oats, barley, winter rye, and hay. We have recently started selling our beef and in the near future will add pork. During the spring we start various types of vegetable plants to sell. We have a pumpkin patch/corn maze in the fall and we host weddings, birthdays, and other events all year long.

Directions: Travel 321S towards Hickory until you pass Caldwell Community College. Turn right at the 2nd light past the college (there is a CVS at intersection). Go to the 2nd light and make a left onto 321A. Go to the next light and make a right at Sawmills Fire Dept onto Sawmills School road. Go to the stop sign make a right. The farm is 3/10 of a mile on left and right side of road.
